Nigeria: Unions Head for Clash With States Over Minimum Wages

Indications emerged, yesterday, during the Workers' Day celebrations, that organised labour and state governments were heading for a showdown over the implementation of the N18,.00 new minimum wage as many states were hinging its payment on the implementation of a new revenue allocation that will give more money to state and local governments rather than the Federal Government.
